Kistler has launched a new data acquisition (DAQ) system, viz., 5697A for recording data in research and development laboratory applications.
The device is suitable for acquiring and evaluating up to 28 channels at a high sampling rate. The system is supported by data acquisition and evaluation software DynoWare Type 2825A.
The acquisition box, which holds the HASP key (dongle) with runtime license, controls the charge amplifier or signal conditioner directly via RS-232C interface. A USB 2.0 interface makes the system independent of PCI and PCMCIA interfaces. Power is supplied via a robust binder connector. Measurements can be started remotely via the D-sub connector incorporated in the acquisition box.

Martel Electronics has released a new version of its digital pressure test gauge. The new product, viz., the BetaGauge PI-PRO offers a custom designed high pressure cast zinc-aluminium alloy housing, which provides protection from environmental insult.
The unit expands the range with 10-inch WC full scale and 15,000 psi added to the 21 ranges previously available.
The gauge has been tweaked for easier field recalibration using either the keypad or standard serial port with a Windows PC. This change provides the gauge with better performance in vacuum applications on compound ranges.
The product provides performance with ±0.05 per cent of full scale accuracy, full pressure data logging capability with the optional BetaLOG software, 19 gauge and absolute ranges, 23 engineering units for display, a CUST user defined unit, large backlit display, stainless steel wetted parts on most ranges and a full rubber boot.
The device can also be paired with one of three Martel calibration test pumps of appropriate range to create a handy kit that generates and measures pressure with accuracy and precision. Kits include a sturdy hard sided carrying case, test hose, fittings and the digital pressure test gauge mounted on the test pump.
The product is suitable for industrial applications such as energy resource development, oil refining, chemical processing, natural gas transmission, electrical utilities and metals and mining.

Severn Trent Services has introduced two new, standard and pre-engineered inorganic removal systems for small water systems to treat arsenic, iron and manganese contamination in potable water.
The new products, viz., SORB 33 ARS series and the Omni-SORB IRS series are simple to install and operate. The systems are designed in five different vessel sizes ranging from 3.5 to 7 ft in diameter.
The SORB 33ARS series features the Bayoxide E33 arsenic removal media and reduces arsenic contamination to non-detect levels. The Bayoxide media has a high capacity for arsenic and as a result has a long run time before it must be replaced.
The Omni-SORB IRS series offers the combined removal of oxidized iron and manganese from potable ground water sources. The filter systems are also suitable for the removal of arsenic in the presence of high iron waters. The system is chemical-free and does not require the use of potassium permanganate for oxidation.

Mahr Federal has introduced a new option package for its MarForm MMQ 200 Formtester, which provides the measurement of surface finish parameters.
The product offers a combined hardware/software MMQ 200 surface finish option, which helps operators to achieve reduced set-up and measurement cycle time.
The controller for the machine can sample data with spacing down to 0.5 microns.
The roughness option package for the product utilizes a skidded diamond tipped PHT stylus and MarWin-based surface finish software. The stylus is mounted opposite the ruby-tipped form probe on the unit's motorized T7W probe head.
The product automatically swivels the probe to apply the diamond stylus and changes from horizontal to vertical measurement as required. Besides, a skidless probe measuring option is also available.
The machine is optimized for measuring cylindricity and other deviations of form and position. The unit comes standard with Mahr's EasyForm Version 3 software.
The product is suitable for applications in the metrology lab as well as on the shop floor. The product can perform a wide range of ISO and/or ASME form checks, such as roundness, straightness, flatness (from a polar trace), parallelism, concentricity, coaxiality, run-out, total run-out, taper, perpendicularity, angularity, and angle sector (roundness, flatness, run-out).

Supercritical Fluid Technologies has introduced the SFT-100XW supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) system, which investigates the feasibility of applying supercritical fluid techniques to various analyses and processing challenges. The machine is suitable in teaching laboratories and for initial process development work.
The product is designed to perform extractions in a supercritical fluid media. The unit also includes dual sapphire syringe pump technology, which pressurizes the stainless steel vessel, which is capable of containing supercritical fluids at pressures up to 10,000 psi (69 MPa).
The product accommodates pressure vessels of up to 500 mL capacity and can also be configured to run with multiple vessels.
The large processing vessels enable the user to extract very low levels of key components from materials or to process larger amounts of bulk material.
The other features of the product include an integrated pre-heater, which helps ensure a consistent temperature of the fluid delivered to the extraction vessel and an optional co-solvent pump, which enables extraction of moderately polar compounds.
