Areva T&D Bags Transformer Orders from Jindal Steel

Areva T&D India has secured new orders from Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) for 400/220 kV substation and power transformers, for Jindal's greenfield integrated steel project at Angul (Orissa).

The power transformer order is for design, manufacturing, supply at site, erection, testing and commissioning of 2x315 MVA, 400/220kV interconnecting transformers, and 6x120 MVA, 220/34.5kV power transformers.

The substation order is on turnkey basis and includes major Areva products such as 400/220kV circuit breakers, instrument transformers and automation system with control and relay panels. Areva will also perform design and engineering, supply, erection and commissioning for the substation including detail engineering for civil works related to this substation.

The total order value is approximately Rs 120 crore, and is scheduled to be completed by December 2010.
