Haas Automation has launched DT-1, a compact, high-speed drill and tap machine with full milling capabilities. The machine features a 20" x 16" x 15.5" work cube and 26" x 15" T-slot table.

A BT-30 taper spindle spins to 15,000 rpm and allows tapping at speeds to 5000 rpm. The spindle is coupled directly to the motor for smooth operation and extreme thermal stability. A 15-hp vector drive system provides 46 ft-lb (peak) of cutting torque for milling and boring operations.

The product is equipped with a 20-pocket, servo-driven tool changer that swaps tools in 0.8 seconds. High-speed 2400 ipm rapids combine with 1G acceleration rates to shorten cycle times and reduce non-cutting time. The maximum cutting feedrate is 1200 ipm.

The unit also features steeply sloped internal sheet metal for chip removal. Optional twin chip augers transport chips to exit at the rear of the machine.

The other features of the product include a 45-gallon flood coolant system, with options for a programmable coolant nozzle and high-pressure through-spindle coolant systems.

Lenox has launched cycle HD water soluble oil for use in a variety of metal cutting applications. The new product is formulated with an advanced extreme pressure (EP) additive that delivers in moderate to heavy-duty machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

The product has no harmful additives like chlorine, silicone, nitrites and sulphur. The fluid is suitable in sawing, drilling, milling, tapping and turning applications.

The oil is versatile and is suitable for cutting carbon, stainless tool and mold steels, nickel alloys, as well as aluminium and non-ferrous materials. The product provides resistance to bacteria. The fluid is also prepared with smaller oil droplets that prevent separation of the oil from water.

Omega has launched new DTG-RTD100 series digital thermometer, which features a backlit display with 25 mm (1") digits that can be read as far as 10.7 m (35') away. The reading features include process, min, max, alarm condition and battery status.

The product includes an additional analog output signal and has a splash proof, 316 stainless steel enclosure, which is designed for wash down, sanitary or marine applications. The models are available with or without integral standard or sanitary sensors.

The product comprises software and a USB cable, which facilitates easy setup and calibration via computer. The unit also includes a wireless transmitter option, which sends readings to remote locations and allows for PC-based chart recording and data logging.

Honeywell has launched the newest version of its smart pressure transmitters. The new product, viz., ST 3000 transmitter line, features advanced on-board diagnostics that simplify maintenance and a new software upgrade.

The software upgrade includes diagnostics for both Foundation Fieldbus and HART 5 and 6 users. The standard HART 6 diagnostics comprise time-tracking functions such as install date, calibration date, time-in-service and stress monitoring and point value, meter body temperature and general reading functions. These functions allow plant personnel to diagnose problems from remote locations, be more aware of potential issues with individual transmitters, view a device's history even after it has been removed from the process and conduct root-cause analysis.

All diagnostics automatically run when the transmitter is powered and the information can be fed directly into the plant's distributed control system and asset management solutions. The data can be reviewed via hand-held device.

The ST 3000 series includes absolute-pressure, differential-pressure, gauge-pressure, flange-mount, high-temperature gauge and in-line gauge pressure transmitters. The products provide pressure, level and flow measurement for applications such as hydrostatic tank gauging, measurement in boilers, fuel feeds and high-pressure reaction vessels.

Avure has introduced a horizontal High Pressure Processing (HPP) system, the QFP 100L-600 for small/medium and seasonal food producers.

The 100 litre capacity model features short cycle times and operating pressures of 600 MPa (87,000 psi). The HPP inactivates food-borne pathogens and spoilage agents.

The product, with a cycle time of 6.5 minutes, is capable of processing more than 12,650 kg (28,000 lbs.) of sliced meat in a typical 20-hour workday.

The machine features 308 mm dia. x 1,420 mm processing chamber (12.1" x 55.9") and a 30 XQ intensifier pump that provides rapid compression and decompression. The horizontal orientation provides single direction, in line product flow compatible with most HACCP and QA programs.

The product has a compact design, resulting in a total system footprint of 8.2 m x 5.8 m (27' x 19'), facilitating easy installation and relocation if necessary.

NLB Corporation has launched the Torrent, a new 3-D water jet tank cleaning head with higher flow for cleaning power. The new product is rated for flows up to 150 gpm (568 lpm) and operating pressures to 10,000 psi (690 bar).

The unit includes new nozzle tips with carbide orifices that improve the cohesiveness of the water jets. The product has a stainless steel body and features improved seals and bearings.

The product helps remove hardened resins, plastics and more. The unit uses high-pressure water and inserting the head into a tank or reactor on a telescoping lance eliminates the need for any personnel to enter the vessel.

ESS Technologies has launched a monoblock filler/capper to create a filling system for bottles, micro-tubes, vials and syringes.

The product includes integrated scales, which measure and record the weight of the container prior to and again after filling to verify exact fill amounts with an accuracy of ±2 mg.

The machine with net weigh system handles rates up to 70 containers per minute. It comprises a large, full colour touch screen, which provides an operator interface to adjust the servo controls for the diving nozzles as well as the pump fill rates.

Constructed to meet cGMP standards, the product includes stainless steel exterior and hard-anodized aluminium inner frame. Standard machine guarding is constructed of aluminium profile with Lexan panels.

The monoblock may be specified to include a number of infeed options to handle containers of most any shape.

Demag Cranes & Components has launched a custom engineered CastMaster crane series, which is made up of various high speed crane components. The product is designed to improve the speed and efficiency of the material handling function for concrete precast and prestressed product manufacturers using the wetcast or drycast process.

The systems are designed to handle all material handling needs from manufacturing process through to truck loading.

The products are capable to handle a number of concrete production applications including long and heavy hollow-core precast products, lifting concrete walls and slabs in confined spaces, moving large beams in the storage areas and loading trucks.

The unit features an outdoor protection package and a microspeed drive, which enables the operator the ability to place and position the final products.
